The NEXT ALPHA COURSE - Contact Church Office for more details
Alpha is a 10 week discovery course looking at the basics of the
Christian Faith. You may of seen the recent ITV series entitled "
Alpha, will it change your life? " hosted by Nicky Gumble at Holy
Trinity Brompton in London. Many people said their lives had changed as
a result of attending the Alpha course, and that is our experience to.
Here are some common questions that people ask about Alpha.
What is it?
A weekly look at a subject central to the Christian Faith, including
Who is Jesus? Is the Bible trustworthy material? What about suffering?
Each session will incorporate some food and chat, a talk or video,
coffee and discussion in small groups.
Who is it for?
Anyone! Alpha is designed for people who don't normally come to church
but is also ideal for new Christians or those wanting to "brush up on
the basics!" Anyone and everyone is welcome!
How long is it?
The course lasts about 10 weeks with a Day Away. Each session is about
2 hours long but you can stay longer if you wish to talk.
Will I be forced to say anything?
No. The Alpha course is
designed so that people can contribute, ask questions and give their
opinions, but no-one is "Forced" to speak.
What if I can't make every session?
No problem, we understand that diaries get filled quickly these days so
don't let that stop you coming. We can loan you a video that will help
you keep up with the course, although it's better to come and
participate if you can.
What do I need to bring on the course?
Yourself! You will also be given a green manual to help guide you
through the course which covers each session and there are other books
on sale from our non profit making book stall. Tapes of each session
can also be ordered for you.
Do I have to finish the course?
We hope that everyone will want to complete the course but anyone can
leave at anytime if they so wish. You are under no obligation
whatsoever.
