"Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared. Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." - Proverbs 3:25-27
Things are moving quickly and we are doing our best to make timely decisions so that everyone is looked after as well as we can in this moment. The latest announcement from the Prime Minister changes significantly the life of EBC and WPC for the coming weeks. Please find below a list of measures that we will be taking this week:
Our staff are still working this week. Next week we will be looking as a staff team at Emma's challenge to us all about what does this situation allow us to do that we wouldn't otherwise be able to. We will be putting in place next week hopefully some ways of working and serving you and our community differently over the next few months.
If anyone has any questions or would like to suggest some creative ways of being church together during this season, we would love to hear them - we're already working on a number of ideas for the whole family but more ideas are always appreciated!
Thank you also to all of you who have sent messages of support to the Ministry Team and who are praying for us at this time. It is much appreciated.
- Sunday morning - we will not be gathering as church in the building but instead we will be church in our homes! The Ministry Team, Jonathan (who was due to preach this week) and a few other essential volunteers will be in the building and conducting a service to an empty church. We hope to be able to live stream this to you so you can watch us (looking awkward!) from home on your computer / devices.
- Sunday evening - we will be sending out some prayer materials later in the week for you to use during our normal service times. There is much to pray for! We won't be meeting in the building or live streaming this. We are currently working on some creative ways to pray remotely together on Sunday evenings every week but need more time to sort this out.
- Coffee shop - our coffee shop closed at 2pm today and will stay closed until further notice. Coffee shop volunteers - please therefore don't come in.
- Wells Place Centre - our building will close to customers at 5pm on Friday. If you are rotaed on reception this week, Laura will be in contact to check your availability if she hasn't already.
- All church groups, meetings and events are now all cancelled or postponed. This includes small groups. If anyone has any doubt, please call Emma.
- The list to invite you all to connect into a small group will also be sent out later this week. This group should be your first place to seek pastoral care, support and help if you need it. Essential pastoral care and community ministry care meetings will still take place.
- We will phone this information around to those who we know don't have email access. However if you know of someone, please can you also call them. Better to hear it twice than not at all!
